Hempology
Hemp is one of the oldest known plants fibers utilized by man. During the last century, hemp use declined dramatically due to political and government regulation. Local knows the true potential of hemp as a long lasting eco alternative to the heavily resource dependent cotton, and the petroleum based clothing materials such as polyester and nylon. For over one year, the Local team has been designing a revolutionary clothing line that is sure to turn heads with it’s edgy appearance and groundbreaking enviro-friendly material blends.
User Benefits of Hemp Fabric
Anti-Microbial
Anti-Fungal
UV Protection
Hypo-Allergenic
No Chemicals/Pesticides
Hemp is the number one biomass producer – 10 tons in approximately 90 – 120 days. One acre of hemp will produce 2 to 3 times more fibre than one acre of cotton. One acre of hemp will produce as much paper as 2–4 acres of trees. Hemp clothing costs more than cotton clothing but will last six times as long- making it cheaper in the long run. Used hemp clothing can be recycled.

Pursuit of Hemp
Unlike huge industry corpos that hide behind false “green” marketing campaigns, the team at Local chooses to exhibit the bona fide production of our goods. We honor transparency in business because we think you should know.
We made this movie to demonstrate Local’s commitment to sustainable products. Watch the Local development team venture abroad in search of a fair trade hemp clothing supplier. No sweatshops, no BS. Just quality, environmentally conscious clothing.
